How to fight cancer with Immunotherapy
The 2018 Nobel Prize for Medicine awarded to immune researchers Allison and Honjo was a milestone for modern cancer therapy. Already in 2011 three immunologists were recognized for their work that revolutionized our understanding of the immune system and opened new doors to the fight against cancer: Steinman described the functioning of dendritic cells and Hoffmann and Beutler discovered that an immune response to success requires warning signs.
